(Kill the DJ)
Yula Kasp was raised under the dregs of the communist regime in Warsaw and through the American Rock n’Roll rebellion, as a teen in Toronto. As an adult in Paris, her first project would be an homage to her grand-mother solely made up of her poems. It is where she also met Matias Aguayo from Comeme records, for whom she started making videos of which the fist was Rebolledo’s «Guerrero». After the early pick up of the LEISURE by Mauricio Rebolledo for «A VERY NICE COMBINADO vol.UNO» compilation for Pachanga Boys’s Label «You and Your Hippie Friends». Pilooski produced the infused psychedelia of her ep «OCEAN BLUES», which was released last year on the Parisian imprint «Kill the Dj» – a strange mixture of eighties wave tape music, folkish electronic voodoo, dubbed-up disco, her own mental poetry and extracts from Shelley or W.H Davies…exactly the type of mixtures she proposes in her DJ sets.
